Hello. I am so glad you have taken a moment to find out a little more about me and my experience as a therapist! I believe that so much of the outcome of counseling is based on creating a warm, safe, and accepting environment so that self-reflection and personal growth can occur. I value my role to assist, collaborate and support clients on their journey to self-improvement, peace and healing.
As someone who has gone through my own personal struggles and trials over the years, I know that life isn’t always fair, nor is it always easy. Sometimes we need a little support, clarity, and feedback as we navigate the challenges in front of us. One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou who said “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.” I think that is something we can all relate to….and as a therapist, my goal is to help my clients learn new skills and ways of thinking so they can do just that. In my time as a therapist, I have used various counseling modalities but tend to focus on Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy components to support my clients. My main goal is that my clients feel heard, cared for & supported while working through their challenges and moving towards new goals. When I am not in the office, you will find me traveling with my family & friends, spending time with my dog, biking, reading, practicing yoga, or playing golf. 😊
