My name is Senajda Zec. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CRADC). My experience includes providing both individual therapy and group therapy services. I have experience working in schools, inpatient substance use/mental health agencies, and community mental health centers. I have training and experience in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders (ITCD).
Outside of work, I enjoy finding and creating new DIY project including candle making and upcycling furniture. Since moving to Missouri from Minnesota over a year ago, I have been enjoying exploring different state parks and trying local restaurants.
I am passionate and committed to helping individuals make positive changes in their lives. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help individuals learn the skills they need for improving their relationships, having more control over their emotions, and tolerating difficult situations without making them worse. My approach to treatment is collaborative and incorporates the strengths and needs of the individual or family I am working with. Therapy is about finding the barriers that are getting in the way of living a happy life.
