-The Comprehensive Adolescent Program including DBT Skills Group is Not Currently Available-
-Individual DBT Sessions for Adults & Adolescents can still be arranged-
-Group sessions can be arranged with St. Louis DBT-

Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a 24 week comprehensive program that consists of the following:
--(This program has been researched heavily over the last few decades and consistently supports positive outcomes)--
  • 60 minute weekly DBT individual session with your primary therapist.
  • 90-105 minute weekly DBT skills group with teen & one parent (Facilitated on Zoom).
  • 5-7 minute coaching calls with your primary therapist (teen) and secondary therapist (parent) as needed.
  • 4 monthly hours of staffing - therapists staff unique ways to help each client.
  • Additional 60 minute family sessions can be arranged if needed.

Problems & Concerns DBT can usually help with:
  • Self-Harm, Suicidal Thoughts, Emotion Regulation Issues, Chronic Impulsivity, Eating Disorders, Addiction or Alcohol Abuse with a co-occurring mood disorder.
  • This group is generally targeted for ages 15-19.

How DBT helps:
  • Provides comprehensive skills training in the areas of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and the middle path.
  • Utilizing chain analysis in weekly individual sessions, uncover ineffective patterns and where alternative actions can be implemented.
  • Utilizes as needed coaching calls to shape real world learning and build effective skill usage.
  • Imparts a deep understanding related to finding a healthy balance in life between acceptance and needed changes.
  • Help parents find a balance between too loose versus too strict, along with identifying typical adolescent behavior versus non-typical and cause for concern behavior.
  • Therapists practice the same DBT skills taught in group.  We believe this is important due to the phenomena of unconscious learning and teaching, as it's equally important to pass on information related to what we do versus only teaching what we know.
